Meet Judge Stephanie Abraham

Judge Stephanie Abraham is a Republican running in the non-partisan election for Kanawha County Circuit Court Judge. Governor Justice first appointed Stephanie as Kanawha County Judge in 2023 and she is now running for a full term. The election will be held on May 14th, 2024. Judge Abraham believes every Kanawha County resident deserves fair judges who follow the law and work to keep our communities safe..

Before becoming a Kanawha County Circuit Judge, Stephanie was an experienced and accomplished attorney in West Virginia. She owned and operated her own law firm where she represented businesses, local governmental agencies, and individuals. Most recently, Stephanie has fought for a better education system for the State’s students, families, teachers, and service personnel as General Counsel to the West Virginia Board of Education. She also served as an attorney for the Department of Education and believes that children are West Virginia’s most valuable resource and that they must be protected and given every opportunity for success. Stephanie was also an Instructor of Business and Lead Faculty of Career Programs at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College and later served on the school’s Board of Governors. She worked as a law clerk for a Circuit Judge and understands first hand the challenges associated with our criminal and abuse/neglect systems resulting from the devastation caused by the opioid epidemic.  Her years of public service and experience have allowed Judge Abraham to become a respected member of the Kanawha County legal community. She is known as a fair and balanced Judge who is determined to always follow the Constitution and laws of this State in order to protect liberty and achieve justice for all.
